AntConc is a lightweight and free tool for analysis of text data, developed by Laurence Anthony. AntConc is a linguistic analysis tool that can analyze single or multiple text files. It can be used for data driven analysis of text, words, and keyword. It is a text analysis application that provides details of the text inside a single file or multiple of files. Its support for batch files makes it an easy and quick tool for text analysis. It has some intuitive tools for text analysis. Theay allow a user to calculate and display the result of analysis in different ways. These could include concordance, file viewer, and cluster tool. It also includes “Clusters/N-grams”, that search corpus of N length clusters. It essentially detects different but similar word patterns found in the text. What are AntConc’s features?
File Formats:
AntConc supports common file formats. After analysis the data and results can be exported to different file formats including text, TXT, HTML, HTML/5, XLS, XLSX, etc. The results can be viewed using appropriate registered programs on the system.
GUI:
The GUI is clean and simple. The main area in the center shows the results of text analysis. The tabs are on top of the main screen and show Concordance, Concordance Plot, File View, Clusters/N-grams, Collocates, Word List, and Keyword List, as the options. The menu bar has options for File, Global Settings, Tool Preferences, and Help. A novice user can easily use this product as it has a low learning curve. The analysis progress is shown in a progress bar in the lower left side. The bar is filled according to the progress in green and considers batch jobs as well.

AntConc is safe and secure to use. It does not include malware or downloads annoying advertisements on the PC. It is also resource optimized system and useful for all professionals.
What is AntConc’s limitation?
AntConc is free to use by all users. It gets slower with the increase in files when batch processing is selected. Also, it cannot scrape a website given its link.
