SketchUp make is a freely downloadable and free to try program developed for Windows based platforms. This tool allows a user to create, design, and develop 3D models. User can download Google SketchUp here. The developed models can then be uploaded on Google Earth. It is a simple tool that allows a user to draw3D models of streets, houses, scenery, and view ports. It can also develop models of mundane and household objects including furniture and electronic devices.
It is useful for a person who has a knowledge of developing 3D models. It is easier to draw, manage, attach, detach, different shapes to make objects like churches, houses, buildings, etc. The software is fairly up-to-date with the latest release in February 2020. What are SketchUp Make’s Features?
3D Modeling: SketchUp Make is a 3D modelling software that allows a user to create models of different real-world objects. These include large objects like buildings, etc., and small household objects like tables, beds, chairs, consoles, etc.
Variety of Objects: SketchUp includes library and shape support for a large kind of models including, houses, churches, buildings, sheds, garages, decks, woodworks, furniture, and automobiles, etc. It can also be used to create fantasy models including spaceships much like start trek and Star Wars.
Detailed Rendering: SketchUp allows a user to create detailed rendering of their projects. A user can add details including textures, and glass to their models and designs.
Dimensional Accuracy: SketchUp provides accurate measurements and display for ease of users. Users can select length, height, and width of objects in SI units as well as metric units. The models are scaled on the screen and the shapes are constructed based on the ratios of the measurements.
Integration With Google Earth: A user can upload their shapes on Google Earth where the models can be viewed by other users. This allows sharing as well as feedback on the rendered image.
Printing: SketchUp provides printing facility for their models. These prints can be used as blueprints for a 3D warehouse and can placed and shared in printed hard copies. The prints are scaled and optimized for viewing on paper.
GUI: The interface looks a paint application with all the tools for shapes, rendering, and texture placed on the top tool bar. A user can select an icon from the tool bar and perform the required action. The interface is simple and allows drag-and-drop facility.
