What does AVG do?
AVG actively scans for suspicious and malicious threats in the background. AVG is a behavior-based antivirus and part of the 4th generation of anti-viruses. As soon as a threat is detected, AVG isolates all infected files and applications that are considered suspicious. The AVG then generates an alert as a popup on the system task bar and creates entries in the log. The isolated files can be deleted with user’s approval.
AVG also repeatedly performs full PC checks and reminds user to set a repeating time. In addition, the software also protects against ransom ware by securing confidential files.
AVG has a simple and easy to use interface. The interface allows a user to run different types of scans as well as create custom scans. Advanced options are only available for paid accounts.
What the AVG can’t do?
AVG is a slow application and take a lot of time in full system scans. The software consumes too many system resources when scanning and users feel annoyed in live scanning. The software doesn’t include any parental control functions for Pcs owned by children. The isolation or quarantined files need to be manually checked and removed by users.
